Stumbled across this as a more cost effective alternative to a solid cement base for a 10×6 pent shed. I can honestly say I think this system is absolutely great. Easy to assemble, but more importantly solid! Can’t believe this system hasn’t had more publicity and I only came across it by chance.

I love this system, it makes installing a shed base really easy (apart from the weight involved when flipping the base over). I do find that it’s necessary to drill holes first, even in reasonably soft ground.

Easy to use and saved a lot of time and money (two things in short supply)! The shed fitter was impressed also…he said the floor would last forever with the good ventilation and as we’re on a new build site, easy to adjust if there’s any settlement. Thumbs up all round.
Note: If your base timbers are a bit undersized like mine, you may want to add some extra jacks in the middle. My floor has a noticeable spring to it, but it’s fine unless you want a firm floor or intend to store very heavy things.

Perfect to set up my bike shed. We’ve just moved and haven’t yet decided on the garden layout, so I didn’t want to dig up the newly laid turf and use the cellular stuff, and no way using concrete. I’ve already moved the base once after we decided to probably finally set the bike shed up next to the new shed (awaiting delivery). I’ve built the bike shed using screws so can be easily dismantled and reassembled when we move it to its’ final position.
Very easy to install the kit. Surprisingly heavy components.
I bought a 22mm bit and used that to drill the ground first as there is a lot of builder’s crap under the turf. If you do this, make sure you pull out a bit of grass around the hole you want to drill, otherwise it can be a bit tricky to find the hole! Overall really easy to do, no digging and if/when I move it, the grass will regrow – result!

Works great. Shed is very stable, but the base does allow the flexibility to move. I got the positioning slightly wrong, so I lifted it and re positioned it. It is now perfect and stable on relatively soft ground.

I researched different systems – didn’t want the permanence, cost or environmental impact of concrete, but wanted something durable that would give me a solid, level base for years to come.
This did the job brilliantly. I was able to roughly level the ground before doing the fine tuning, using the adjustable bases.
It’s been up a week so this isn’t a long term review but I’m really happy with it so far.

Brilliant. I needed to get a shed up quickly without fussing too much about the base. I made a frame up exactly as described. Feet coped fine with the slight slope and so far so good! Shed has been in place for several weeks now and I’m not aware of any problems. I think this is probably easier than other methods of making a quick base that don’t involve laying a concrete base.

Once I had a working set of spikes and plates it went together well and set up a very solid base. One spike unscrewed itself when adjusting the plate so make sure they are well attached in the first place.
